ArtHaus Summer Program Rocks!

It’s been a magnificent start to ArtHaus Summer Program. Through the first 4 weeks we’ve had over 20 students from across Hudson County attend the new program. Our program has been a huge hit with families interested in an exciting program where kids learn valuable skills from real working artists.

Each week we engage and challenge our students to learn the creative process of making music from idea iteration to a finished original song. Who’s the writer, who are the producers, singers, musicians. The process starts in our early morning discussion- what artists, songs do you like. We break down the songs, structure, chords and then it’s time to jam!

Little do they know, they are already working on their original song. Ultimately, the students will have to make the critical decisions and work together in the studio to finish their track. As the week goes on, we engage the kids with critical questions in the process of creation. We challenge them with weekly competitions – beat making and lyric writing.

The students also enjoy our guest artists that pop in during the week to teach vocals, writing, and music instruction. What’s really important is to make this a fun program. We focus on learning, but in a fun way that engages students to expand their creativity and reach their full potential.

The feedback from parents has been tremendous! We’ll be sharing some quotes when the program ends in a few weeks. We still have two spots open in our final week- August 18th – August 22nd. If not, there’s always next year!
